We are back!

We are back!

Hey, fellow primates! The first game jam organized by Facepunch is over, and it was the opportunity for us to bring back all the stuff developed on the old S&box entities systems in a game temporarily called Project M.

It was a fucking monthly sprint to deliver a playable game to players for the game jam deadline. And we did it!

Of course, there is a lot to improve, particularly in refining the UI, polishing the gameplay, and clearly conveying the game objectives (unfortunately, we noticed many players getting lost in our game). Nevertheless, we have a solid foundation now, and we have to put effort into improving that.

For our long-time followers, as you can see, our concepts have been evolved. The rounds have been replaced by “one game” logic. Flags are gone, and bases to defend become the new objective. We are actively seeking feedback from players to always evolve our gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, our artistic direction will still evolve as we don’t want to be the “S&box Fortnite” as some players say.

Additionally, there are numerous features yet to be implemented!

Since the release of Project M on asset.party, we have received tons of encouragement from players. I firmly believe we are on the path to delivering the best multiplayer FPS game on S&box. And we will keep pushing!

Joris and I have been relatively quiet within the S&box community; but since the beginning, i personally read tons of messages on the S&box Discord, it’s always interesting: some people hate us, some people love us and this feedback guides us in improving both our game and our communication.

So, we’re keeping it up! We are back and we’ll be more transparent about what we’re currently working on. We’re still waiting for your feedback on Project M, so let’s play!
